I dropped my coupe off at the shop that is installing my new exhaust. On the list of other things to address was the trunk lock which was stuck. They were able to open the trunk ( via the gas filler boot) but the cylinder tailpiece is not inside. Is it possible that it fell into the space between the sheetmetal?

Once the tailpiece is located, can it be soldered, pressed or epoxied back on the end of the cylinder?

I most likely have what you need but would need a part number or photo to confirm the part.
