Any one have a suggestion for a inexpensive spray paint color for trunk tire well. Car color is Polaris, but no one really sees this so all I want to do is just clean up this area with similar paint color.

I am missing the two bolts one that holds the tire down and the wing nut that holds the jack down. I read that the bolt that holds the tire down is a lug nut so that is easy but ideas on the piece of metal that goes under it and hold the tire down? While I am at it what is the size of the wing nut that holds the tire jack down? Not pressing question cause I can figure that one out with a run to the local hardware store

BONUS question- In the picture what is that hole at the top right of the picture next to the tire wrench

Any suggestions would be welcomed

Rustoleum, spray or can, "Hammered Silver." Perfect paint for that area. HD or Lowes have the paint in stock.

I'll take a few pictures.

You make the argument to buy a Tap and Die set. It allows you to determine the thread and pitch for nuts/bolts besides recutting threads. I don't know how I lived the first 30 years of my life without one.

If you want to, you can buy custom mixed Polaris paint in a rattle can. I spruced up my tire well with Chamonix from a paint store in Oakland that mixes it while you wait. I forget the name but Sfdon can give it to you. I would wire brush and prime the rusty areas first with an etching primer. Mask and cover surrounding areas with plastic so you don’t get overspray on anything.

Ditto. Got a bunch of plastic plugs, painted them to match, held in place with some 3M gasket adhesive.

Me too, well sort of. An assortment of rubber plugs so many of them stay in on their own. The largest hole is bigger than the firewall plugs sfdon sold awhile back! It had a threaded pipe through it. It just fills the hole but it's a little loose. I should use gasket adhesive on it too.

There's also a hole in the floor under the LH back seat that has an L shaped, threaded PVC pipe in it that sticks out the bottom of the car. Can't figure that one out for the life of me. Maybe that plus big hole into trunk was part of moving the battery to back of car? It was in the battery tray in front when I got it, and I don't really see signs of it having been in the back, but I'm kind of stumped otherwise. Maybe it was just heavy gauge wire that they felt the need to run outside the car. There were more concerns about getting the amps the proper power than the engine. The stereo equipment had been removed by the mechanic that I bought it from. He hated it. Also said that once he took it out the car instantly ran better.
