TRX/TDX rims and tyres

I am not using them but I have a set I can gift you. You are in California at the moment, right? You could stop by and take them with you.

TRX rims and tires

I did see these on a coupe being offered by Bimmerbros in the past so they may fit - but why?

The TRX tires are ~$300 a corner from Coker tires. The original TRX tires were life-threatening in the wet or snow. The newer ones apparently use a newer compound that might be slightly better but you are limited to one manufacturer (unless Avon still makes them - not exactly high performance)

I took them off both of my e24s and regret the space they take up in my garage.

These metric tires were a BMW idea that just did not work (sort of like run flats today) but BMW stayed with in longer than any sane person would.

$300? I've seen them at $500 a corner. $300 is almost palatable. While I don't like the lack of rubber available for them, I do love the way they look on M6s. I have an original set of TRXs for my M6 and the wheels themselves are beautiful but I can't stand the thought of $500 for a mediocre tire.

A metric to 225/15 TRX adapter, there is the next project idea for Dave V.

TRX wheels and tires

I have a set on one of my cars. They came from my 635. They fit fine and work great for a car that very rarely gets driven. They look fairly nice. They are Michelins and so they hold air well!

As performance tires, they wear well! That's about all on the positive side. Traction is poor, especially in wet weather. They ride hard. All reasons they were not well regarded when they first came out. Wonder why BMW chose to go with them in the early 80s?

Hi Dave. I meant Vrane, but we can do a run of wood rims as long as the grain matches the interior wood.
