Tucked front bumpers look sweet but they sure are a beast to install. If I ever have to pull it off again I’d seriously consider welding threaded bungs into the uni-body rails to replace those special BMW type stove bolts and then I could install the bumper with the brackets already attached to it, the way I have been doing it for years on other cars. Installing the brackets first and then attaching the bumper to the brackets is a pain because the bumper is so close to the body Or could I have dumbed up again and missed the obvious & easy way ? ~ John Buchtenkirch

I may be showing my ignorance, but what do "tucked bumpers" look like?

Tucked bumpers is hot rodder or street rodder slang for moving the bumpers closer to the car’s body. Some of our coupes seem to have them closer, whether it’s stock or not I do not know --- maybe another member may have something to add on that. One thing for sure, If mine were any closer you wouldn’t be able to get wrenches in there to bolt them on. That is why I’m considering welding threaded bungs into the uni-body frame rails so the bumpers can be installed with the brackets attached. Or maybe someone can tell me how to do that with the existing bracket attachment system ??? ~ John Buchtenkirch
