Here is a fairly simple repair for the light bulb sockets in the front turn signal
housings.
As you know the socket bases go bad and then the bulbs won't work.
I cannot find a replacement socket.
These housings were going out for re-chrome so had to had a fix before that happened.
Remembered seeing sockets that twist-lock in and searched and found these.

So if you look at the housing you will see the base that holds the socket is part of the light fixture.
I cut this housing off with a hacksaw.
Enlarged the hole and made notches for the new socket to twist lock in.
It has it's own ground so no longer need the ground from the housing to the body.
Pictures should help explain.
This should last a long time and is waterproof because it has a gasket.
May not be original but can't be seen.
