- Strange air intake setup on this car, almost looks like a turbo but can't really tell and no description

I think that's a 745 turbo.
Just when I thought I was satisfied with an old grandpa car someone brings up m102 turbo. It sure looks pretty in this big coupe pic from BAT. I wonder how that feels in a e9. Perhaps, excessive power?

You might be right on the 745 turbo part, the intake looks the part. Wonder if it has the special exhaust manifold or is a custom job. I think the car goes across the block today, will be interesting to see if it sells

I've got an M102 sitting on my garage floor and it doesn't look like this. This has a D-jet intake and TPS but I don't know what the piece upstream of it is. I sure would like to know. I didn't think you could turbo a D-Jet

You mean the piece above the air cleaner attached to the Venturi? Afaik that is the air flow valve. I have never seen this engine in person though...so I could be wrong. It's happened before.
