Hi guys,

8 months ago I bought a set of original BBS RS wheels in serious need of restoration.

Yesterday, I finished restoring them. Here are the specs:

BBS RS 005/006

Front: 16" ET24 7J 5x120
Rear: 16" ET11 8J 5x120

Now, what are the best tyre sizes I can put on these for my 1973 3.0CS?

Here's the tire spec table.

OEM tire Size: 195/70/14 – dia. 24.7”, 77.7” circ, rev / mile = 815
Substitutes: 205/60/15 – dia. 24.7”, 77.6” circ, rev / mile = 817
Substitutes: 225/55/15 – dia. 24.7”, 77.7” circ, rev / mile = 815
Substitutes: 205/55/16 – dia. 24.9”, 78.2” circ, rev / mile = 811
Substitutes: 225/50/16 – dia. 24.9” 78.1” circ, rev / mile = 811

Substitutes: 245/40/17 – dia. 24.7”, 77.6” circ, rev / mile = 816

I have restored a set of
5 Genuine BBS RS 8J x 16H2 ET20 mag wheels, I have read in one of our earlier e9coupe posts that “it is not necessary to roll the front guards as the e9’s had thick spacers installed at the top of the shock towers beneath the bearings to raise the front of the chassis so the imported cars could pass the DOT headlight height requirements.”

If this is correct and I don’t have to roll my lip on my front guards, what size tyre do you suggest?

Best to roll your front fenders, wings, guards between 10 & 2 o'clock.

Thanks for the advice guys, Has anyone rolled the front stainless steel arches that are also attached to the front guard/fender? Or is it better to machine the stainless steel lip back 1-2 cm?
