For all of those trivia buffs such as myself, I received this reply from BMW regarding whether Hoffman was also the importer for Canada:

"Dear Mr Macha,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, Hoffman was only the importer for the US. The importer for Canada was BMW Distributors in Vancouver.

Yours sincerely,

Christina Hartung"

We know that Hoffman equipped all U.S. coupes the same so this may explain why Canadian delivered coupes would not necessarily have the same options such as leather that Hoffman coupes received. Some of these coupes have made their way to the U.S. and vice versa.

Us Vs Canada

MY coupe has rear side lights but does not have front reflectors.
Iam not sure if it ever had them.

Chris,

Thanks for the post with the Canadian distributor info. I have a 2800 cs that was delivered to Canada in Dec. of 69 and to Vancouver according to your distributor info. I live in Vancouver so it seems the car hasn't gone far.
It is a four speed, sunroof, cloth seats, no side reflectors or side lights and a rear under bumper fog light. I like to drive around with the fog light on all the time for a little more visibility at stop lights.
It's registered as a 1970 but I like to call a 69, sounds a lot older.
