A sad day has arrived in my household. It's time to sell the coupe. With 2 small children and living in a slightly salubrious part of east London I have to let her go. Having worked my way up through 2002's I managed to acquire the holy grail 8 years ago but I just don't have the time, money and space to keep her. Does anyone have a handkerchief? Anyway, I just want to put out some feelers to see if there's any interest or if anyone knows of anyone who's after one. Don't be fooled by the pictures, she's a daily driver that'll need a fair amount of work to get her up to a 25K car. Full respray, new drivers door etc the list could go on for a while but I'll leave it at that until anyone needs more info. From seeing the condition of the one that went at auction for 12K (!!) recently I'd be happy with 10K (or rather unhappy at saying goodbye). Let me know what you think, I'll miss this forum.

BTW: She is currently running with a 1986 M535i motor with 5 speed dog leg but I have the original engine and box with a rebuilt head but the original block would need a total rebuild.

I am assuming this is a city pack car? And why did you need a new driver's door? Accident?

Hi,
a new drivers door is required as there is a lot of blistering along the top edge and with further inspection, using a magnet, I realised that it is a steel door so must have been changed from ally to steel prior to my ownership.

More info about the car:
Mileage on the clock says 38,000 but I have not had the speedo working with the new engine as an M535i takes the speed from the diff rather than the gearbox so I have been using GPS on my iphone as a speedometer. She has an awful sunroof that a philistine fitted prior to my ownership. Wooden dash has lost its veneer, windows all work, wiper motor stopped working last week on the M1 in heavy shower which was super frustrating as the car was running so well and it took something so small to put us on the side of the road. I had a side pipe fabricated last year to allow the 3.5 to breathe easier but made sure they did minimal changes to allow an original back box to be put on a some point in the future. She has an MOT until June 2010. Front seats will need to be worked on rears are fine. If there are any specific bits of info you'd like to know drop me a line,
