Hi,
Wondering if the grey/black foam type insulation is really necessary? Mine does not have any insulation (my hood is aluminium). So should I be worried that my hood will be heat compromised without insulation? / Will the hood paint become too hot and deteriorate?
I would prefer not to put under hood insulation on as it looks much neater and cleaner without it. But what is the consensus on it's functionality benefit?
(PS Actually I notice my engine never gets really hot anyway)
