Under riders or no?

Should I go with or without rear bumper under riders?

I have the same situation. At $450+ each from Realoem, though, I'll wait until I can find used ones. In the meantime, I'm getting used to the uncluttered, but bare, look of no under-riders.

I find it helps break up the lower valance, which for some reason does not have a uniform / symmetrical shape. Mine is the same. You can see it in your "without" photo.

I vote "with", but admittedly just because my brain has been programmed to think that's the way a coupe is supposed to look. A non-coupe person isn't going to look at Great White without the under riders, and think that something is missing.

Personally I wish the BMW stylists reworked the taillights and some other rear view items when they restyled the nose for the 6 cylinder conversion. Having said that I think your coupe looks a bit cleaner in that ¾ view but I would really have to see a straight on rear view photo to give you a more valid opinion. You might also consider lowering the rear plate till the top of the plate frame lines up with the top of the center trim to eliminate that visual jog in the car’s lines. ~ John Buchtenkirch

Leave them off, makes much cleaner lines across the rear. No 2 E9s are the same, everyones is an extension of the owners personality.

The e-9's imported by Hoffman all had overriders. Complete and un-molested e-9's have tham--as does BLUMAX

i think Murray has said it appropriately - "complete and un-molested". if your car is correct, it should have them. i think a freshly painted white car looks naked without them.

that being said, mine does not. mine has had a color change and an engine / transmission transplant. (originally an auto). the PO also changed the steering column to an adjustable '74 column. so my car is complete, but tastefully molested (updated). it also has a 635 style air dam, 16" coupeking alpinas and is lowered ... it is also about to finish the brake transplant to complete vented disks.
