My 72 CS with stock zeniths has a Bosch 007 distributor, vacuum advance only. I'm having trouble finding any vacuum line routing diagram for this anywhere in my parts catalog, repair manual, or online. I'm finding this probably wasn't the as delivered distributor fitament, though parts book tech spec section shows it as optional. Any ideas on what other cars may have this distributor and zeniths? An E9 specific chart would be most splendid! TIA. Tom

Does this help?

Regardless I would run manifold vacuum to the dist. advance and cap ported vacuum and dist. retard if it has it. In other words, swap the red and blue lines at the dist, then remove blue line and cap. Also eliminate the electromagnetic relays.

Thanks Steve, the explanation certainly helps. Basically run dist advance to manifold (not ported) vacuum and route as depicted by the blue line...ignoring the red line? Both electromagnetic valves already gone, as is the dash pot on aft carb if that matters. Thanks again!

Yes but in the diagram the blue line is ported vacuum, they used ported vacuum for advance and manifold vacuum for retard, this increased the temp at idle to improve emissions but is no bueno for the engine. Running advance with manifold vacuum will improve idle and run cooler.

So you'd take the blue line from the distributor and run it to where the red lines plug in the carbs, or alternatively take the red line off the distributor retard side and plug it to the advance port. More:
