In 2024, Big Boy No. 4014 visited 14 of the 23 states served by Union Pacific, with full day stops in Roseville, Ogden, Rochelle, Houston and Fort Worth. Future schedules are still in the planning stage; stay tuned for updates!

There is a working steam engine in the WI automotive museum in Hartford, WI - they pull it out and run it around at Christmas each year - but its not nearly as big as that thing.
 
Very cool. Would be awesome to see it roll (rumble?) into Truckee.

It’s hard to imagine how massive steam locomotives are until you get next to one…and moving at 60mph is unreal.
 
Think how civilized and calming and perhaps even healthier we and the planet would be if Boeing and Airbus did not exist and we and freight travelled by rail and ship.

Absurd, I know.
