I HAVE HAD A 72 3.0CS AUTO FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS NOW, I HAVE ONLY USED IT AS A 2ND CAR AND I'M TO THE POINT WHERE I NEED TO ADDRESS SOME ISSUES.

1. SOURCE FOR THE DOOR TRIM CLIPS, I DON'T FEEL LIKE RUNNING AROUND BUYING THE WRONG ONES.

2. I NEED TO FIND A DRIVERS SIDE GRILL

3. I NEED TO FIND AN INSIDE LIGHT SWITCH, THE KIND MOUNTED ON THE HEADLINER, I HAVE THE LENS

4. HOW DO YOU GUYS DEAL WITH ALL THE LEADS THAT HAVE TO GO TO THE +SIDE OF THE BATTERY.I HAVE 5 LEADS AND HAVE BEEN DOING 5 SEPARATE CONNECTIONS WHICH ALL SEEM TO GET LOOSE OR CORRODED.
IS THERE A CENTRAL PLACE THAT I SHOULD BE HOOKING THEM TO ??

TIA
JIM C

Jim,
First -- typing all in caps is the internet equivalent of YELLING! We're not that far away, we can hear you. :p

For parts, asking here first is good, lots of people have parts cars. After that, Maximillian Importing, 800-950-2002 or Carl Nelson at La Jolla Independent, 800-466-8184

As to the wires connected to the battery, do you know what they feed? Most auxiliaries should be coming out of the fuse box.

Sorry about the caps, I'm in the telecom business and we always do all caps to match up with the systems which are always case sensitive.

The car is a Euro model which was previously rewired I think.I see a lot of wire color changes and it's a challenge. I don't want to get into the fuse box part because of it's accessibility problems.I need a reliable way of combining my 5 "hot" wires into one and then adding the one to the battery.I guess not everyone has this problem.

To address corrosion at the battery...

First remove and thoroughly clean all those wires to the + post. Reassemble them and coat with any of various "grease" products. If you can seal out air, neither the wire ends nor the battery post will corrode.

You can use almost any grease, some comes in spray cans, or just use an acid brush from your copper pipe soldering kit, to brush on some axle grease. Main thing, again, is to seal out air.
