Hi,
Please, help me with steps about how to replace the glass.

Never made this on assembled car, but you have little bolts in marked areas, after unbolting and disassembling part of frame you should be able to take out the window.

Yes - the glass is heldin by the sealant and it is hard to shift on some older cars.
My new glass did fit but it needed to float in the frame suspended by sealant rather than rest on any edge.

I had to heat the frame before dismantling.
Glass from W&N and it works with som sealant as it was before.
Thanks a lot for tips and tricks to all of you at this forum!!

A word of caution: I have had them apart (to rechrome the thin frame around the glass (as these parts´ chrome often looks, if not pitted, at least not very shiny, and have not aged as well as the big frame).
2 issues here: the threads of the small screws are very delicate, and easily damaged. Some of my screws did not come out easily! I did not find a suitable black sealant, in Sweden, to hold the glass in place. They were permanently soft and shiny and just made a mess.
I may have tried new glass and found this to leave a thin, open area....this was many years ago.
So bottom line for me was, don´t mess around with these vent windows!
New thich seals, by all means. They fit superbly. And clean and lubricate the opening mechanisms. They are fragile in the weak, cast (crappy metal) mounts, where the rigid pin of the vent window goes. The U shaped opening often needs to be pryed open a bit, in order for the pin to slide in. Rubber hammer was needed in most cases.

Thanks Peder. Great advice, but unfortunately now I'm committed and everything is already in pieces. Part of me wishes I hadn't touched them, but I did need to remove the glass as the colour was not correct for my car. I did read about newly bought glass not fitting a while back, but my glass is original and hopefully will fit ok, albeit from a different car. The screws came out very easily, so one good thing. I did put a nice bend in the frame on separating it from the glass, but I think I've rectified that. What a painful job. I found a good method to remove the glass in the end, I'll post pictures if anyone's interested.

I didn’t find it that easy, hard to grip and use the necessary pressure without causing damage. Maybe if the sealant has degraded.
