Need a little help.
Blue books do not cover this in detail
This part goes in the wing window somewhere?
I found it in the parts bag but don't have a photo either Doh!

Thanks,
Gary

I'm guessing it's the backing plate that goes behind the black knob that turns to open or close vent window.
I could be wrong.

Just looked on Real Oem 51/42 part #10 and looks like it's called a trim ring and it goes behind the mechanism amd spring that is behind the black knob. It is Part# 51326754364 NLA.
CHECKING IT OUT TO CONFIRM.
Thanks

Number 2 in your photo is the same part #10 in my photo which was from Real Oem. Where did you find the diagram you listed?

Part 2 or 10 is a plastic rosette that fits under the vent knob and has a small recess where it fits against the wood trim. I don’t recognize that metal washer and can’t find it in the parts books.

Agreed on #2. They aren’t required either. Neither of my cars had them (anymore). I need to find some eventually.

It's part number 2. Sorry I missed that.
Not sure how it stays there but will find out eventually.
Was afraid it fit in the guts somehow?

Yes, it's metal.
Not understanding this?
Did you see what Marko's said above?
I only seem to have one as well. It was in the bag with the bolts and labeled for wing window.
May have to go look at Scott's car to see if I can see it?
Thanks Chris.

Hi Gary,

Once again I am adding to the confusion. I agree with Chris’s comments about #2. I don’t think that your unknown metal part is #2.

Paging @Wladek. He has zinc plated just about every loose metal item on his project car. Perhaps it looks
familiar to him. I don’t recognize it.

Ahh - so it goes inside the vent window gearbox. That explains why it is in his parts bin. It also explains why the washer is keyed like that. Thanks!

I absolutely love the interest in helping each other out here! This community is awesome. Sorry I was wrong about supplied image.
