OK, can anyone tell me what these charges are for? I live in a state where we have a senator (who we only see during election time) who prides herself on protecting the little guy.........................Can you imagine the revenue from these charges each month? I've mentioned this sports network fee before which we all get charged for even though I do not have any special sports channels.

i got so fed up with our cable bill that I finally cut the cord. We no longer have the bundle, internet only from Verizon. No landline, we have two cell phones. TV is just fine with Netflix and Amazon Prime, Motor Trend & PBS subscriptions, and i have YouTube TV. Much less expensive.
I think that the "franchise related costs...$.49" is the cost to add this other crap to your bill.
The 6.46 is for the sport franchise, if you don't watch sports, call Verizon to delete that charge.
Sports franchise it a fixed charge regardless, you have no choice.
And it just so happens to add up to an even $30. I stripped off all cable channels except the basic networks, and put the $ into internet speed, a whopping 600 MBS. Pages load instantly, even the 2002FAQ which is the most bloated site I've encountered.
