I still kick myself for passing up a chance to buy a 700 back in the 80's If I remember correctly, the seller wanted $900 and I would not go higher than $800. Hindsight 20/20 That would be a fun little shop toy today....simplicity.

700 in San Jose
There was a VERY old gentleman who drove a 700 Cabrio in San Jose circa 1990, looked O.K. but smoked like a two cycle. He frequented the Wienerschnitzel at Meridian and Fruitvale and could have passed for Colonel Sanders, always neatly dressed with a string tie. It was before my BMW days, but there was surely fodder for an "Ultimate Driving Machine" spoof.

One of the members, Mr Langfrey I believe, was working on a race version of this fun car. Wonder how he is doing with that? I was sure envious....almost as much as his CSL!
