I am posting this for a friend of mine.He has a very nice 1972 CSI he has decided to sell to free up some cash to restore his CSL.I don't have many details on the car but have seen it and it looks very, very nice. The owner of the car knows more about these Coupes than most people and had quite a bit to do with building "Jabberjaw" If you are a serious buyer you can Email him @ [email protected] and he will give you the details. His asking price, I believe is mid 30's.I will try to link some current pictures of the car.The car is located in Woodside Calif.

This is a very well sorted coupe and is owned by an enthusiast Mr Terry C. He also has a few coupes (5) including a real CSL. I bet he can answer any questions you have regarding this car and more. He also helped restoring Jabberjaw =)

Can you just post a realistic description and history of the car with a realistic price so that he can get some realistic offers.

I have driven this car, and all I can say is wow! I cannot think of a single issue that this car has. It drove the way a car would have driven off the showroom floor, (with the addition of the great Alpina rims and Carl's lowering springs and Bilsteins). If I only had the funds, I would have bought it six months ago! Also, you can not hope to deal with a better person than Terry, the car's owner.

Agreed, a lovely example. But the taillights, lacking the Euro fog light, might indicate this car was born an export/American CS. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Steve

I will go through this with you....

The car is a factory csi.
We all know that no csi's were sold new in the USA.

The vin is 2263929- euro car sold to Italy.

No AC

KM speedo

Not all euro cars came with rear fog.

It's Euro.

Good eyes though!

I have seen the car- whomever gets it will be very lucky indeed.

Is Terry in Woodside and same for the car?

darn straight!

As soon as I've confirmed his asking price I may take a drive up...

Thanks for drawing our attention to this fine looking Coupe.

Not sure where Terry lives. Six weeks ago the car was in Woodside.
Bimmerbros has it listed for 39k (gulp), but I think he wants 35.
I never saw the car. I am on the other coast. It would be worth a 500 mile drive to me, plus the roads around woodside are fantastic for driving. Usually a bevy of great cars at Alice's restaurant on Skyline.

Terry and I will speak again tomorrow and if he still has it himself and it has no commission pending I might take a bite...

Thanks for the heads-up guys!

Chic,

Are you in the market for a CSi to replace your...err..track car? If you aren't, don't tell the seller what to do. I have seen this coupe as well and interested parties will get all of the info they need.

This is an exremely well sorted car. I've seen the car at several stages during Terry's ownership. He started with a very solid/original car and sorted through it for over a year, building it with the intention to keep it as his own. But just when he finished the project, he bought a csl and that is his new project. Truth is, he knew about the csl for several years but he could not convince the owner to sell, so he found the nicest csi he could, and built his dream car...which is now for sale to make room for the csl.

Terry is extremely knowledgeable about coupes and he built this one correctly.

Terry and the car are in the Woodside area

Thanks Mike I will take that into account and depending on his bottom line price give up on my preference of Sunroof/A/C and not ever owning another Blue BMW if I can help it.

lol!

Cheers!

I hope you buy this coupe Ran =) Its a very well sorted car. You have searched hard enough and here is the perfect car for you. Hopefully you will be driving this car back to Socal. Ill say it again " Its got your name all over it Ran". Good luck BTW my Scheels that you wanted to buy would perfectly match Terry's black interior. There you go.

I propose a coupe caravan down from Woodside to Cupertino to bid the bride farewell.

Thinking of spilling some Moet Chandon on the fender for good measure (don't worry Blumax about getting the fender wet, we can get extra dry Moet).

Go Ran go, life is short, just do it.

ditto.

Terry's CSI is indeed lovely and well sorted....and a two time 'Monte' veteran.

;-)
