Hello All,

It is a known issue that some of our cars' VINs do not come up correctly in RealOEM. I seem to recall that someone on this forum has a process for correctly decoding our cars, but may be wrong. If there is a process for getting this done like contacting BMW Mobile Tradition, please let me know.

Equally, if it is through a another process, I would greatly appreciate a run down on my car, whose VIN is 2280183. While it comes up as an E30, I have 100% confidence in the VIN as I have not only the plate in the engine bay and on top of the steering, but also the original window sticker with the corresponding VIN on it.

Any assistance/guideance is appreciated.

Thank-you!

No 7 digit VINs work in RealOEM, e-mail BMW, link is lower left on the e9 Registry page. Since Hoffman ordered your coupe you will get build date, fob date to Hoffman (not where delivered) and color, that is all. Probably built in March of 1970.
