Vinyl Roofs

I thought vinyl roofs were rare on E9s but look at this. I have never seen a Pontiac Trans Am with one. If any car doesn't need a vinyl top, it's the second generation F body cars. For what ever reason, I like it on this car - maybe it's how unique it is and the color combination.

Was waiting for the guy to floor it..... Come On! Back in those days a Trans AM 6.6 with 4 speed was at the top of my automotive food chain and a vehicle I hoped to own one day if I could get a job.

Those roofs are generally put on by bodyshops when the painted roof is damaged. These are done so the car can be sold as "new" or even an up-charge to recoup the cost of the upholstered plastic cover.

This roof is on the factory build sheet and was also offered on Camaros and many other cars in the 70s.
