Terry Tinney has completed the freshening of the engine for Luigi and it is in transit back to Racecraft. The M3 repairs are all complete. The new bead seat is in the Swift, and the rebuilt engine is in my Koepchen 2002. Now all we need is some races to go too.

Luigi and the 1800 have been accepted for Rolex races. Luigi has also been accepted for the Sonoma Motorsports Festival which has been delayed until September. The first event we hope to get to is the delayed David Love Memorial races at Sonoma the end of May.

Fingers crossed.

Terry does great work!

Looks a little sad for Luigi to be stuck in that back corner....

....the waiting is the hardest part.
oh the shame, parked and unused in the front garage where the suburban usually goes...surrounded by "stuff".
Hopefully back out there this summer down here in SoCal.

Hey Shawn come on up north a bit. We'd love to have you at some races up here. In the meantime here's a little something to fill the empty hours:

The David Love Memorial brings back memories from 45 years ago when we had the classic Sports Racing Group. David raced the hell out of a pontoon fendered Testa Rosa. Years later he and his wife Mary Hoe Love literally found an RSK Porsche on the side of a road for sale in Washington which was restored for her to race. The club started racing on a small out of use airfield in Cotati CA and later to Infinion which was then called Sears Point and also where Bob Bondurant had his racing School which was later moved to the Phoenix area. Bob is now in an old age home in Scottsdale where he still has his trophies lining the walls. This was told to me by one of his care givers who I ran into some where

Thanks for the racing video lafngrvy, look forward to watching tonight....all things racing help this waiting.

Will do my best to get up to Laguna Seca in December and possibly Portland in July (both with SVRA
...Portland is a long haul for me but I have never raced there). Also will be running Oktoberfest at Buttonwillow in October with VARA...always a great German car turn out for that one. Stay safe and hope to see you at the track in a couple months.

Great video on Luigi. Really enjoyed all the individual race details for the 76 and 77 seasons. Great historical footage quality too. Well done.

Because your swift has a YAC motor it was probably raced in the American Cities Racing League pro series. Do you have the log book? I'd be curious to know who ran it. I ran in ACRL for team Denver. They are indeed very fun. I miss mine.

That's a really cool mini-documentary on the history of the Luigi BMW Chassis 001.

Can't wait to explain this history to my son; thanks for letting him sit in the driver's seat. Hope to see you again in the Paddocks at Laguna Seca Historics 2025.
