So, I bought these a few years back from Walloths and now fitted . It seems that they have the two stage "stop" but the door if pushed can still open a full 90 degrees and the leading edge of the door ends up only a few mm's off the fender . If there is any momentum behind the door it will hit the fender ...yes, ask me how I know !. Fortunately, my car is not painted at this point but seems pointless to have a door brake that doesn't do the job. I believe the one's I bought are the same still being advertised on the W&N site ...is my experience unique or others had similar issues ?. Is there something I can change /modify ?...or do I kick them to the kerb and fit something else ? . Cheers, Simon

I have the MB door stops referenced in several posts a year or so ago. They have two stops, and the furthest one opens the door about 75-80 degrees. No contact with the fender.

Thanks Gary, would you be kind enough to give me a part number/source please...searching " door brake "produces a big list . thanks again. Simon
PS. Your car list includes my favourites "55"&"A8"

I welded a small post at the required position on the retaining arm, it prevents the arm going too far

Simon,

Here's the link, including my post. I'm not sure I'd put the SuperLube on again if I was installing these. It may make the movement almost too easy!!! But, I'm pretty sure it will also increase the longevity!

Cheers and good luck,

Gary--

PS: I searched for 'MB door brake' to recover the link.
