Folks

I need to get new front and rear windscreens for the e9 and BMW is on backorder for those parts - prefer OEM but does anyone have any experience with W&N glass - their prices are good but I'm sure the shipping will make up for it - not really an issue, just don't want to wait months (or longer ) for the factory to produce some coupe glass

Thanks

Jeff

After contacting W&N, they informed me that the rear glass is from Doraglass, and the front is from 'Nordglass' - Dora is a Turkish manufacturer and Nord is Polish - I'm guessing they're acceptable as OEM - although having the Turkish behind me and the Polish in front of me is no way to go into battle! Waiting to hear from the dealer parts department on how long the backorder is, although it seems W&N has the same rear screen with no backlog. Here's the thing - W&N will cost $475 (today's exchange) for both front and rear and that includes shipping to Cali. The dealer price including my discount for both is $793 and I must pick up, they don't ship. This is looking more like a slam dunk by the minute...

Yes, true about the local advantage - from what I understand the issue is the front screen fitment. The good news is the car is currently completely stripped - so the option is there that if the glass doesn't fit correctly, then the metal can be realigned to adjust to the glass, which is a big plus.

I bought the complete set of glass from W&N. Unfortunately it is not installed in the car yet.
I can't wait on BMW. I've had a front headlight grill on order for 4 years now.
The only thing I don't like is the logo. The glass is very close in color to original.

This is the logo of the RF window near the top front edge.

I purchased my front and rear windshields from BMW about 2 years ago. They are both Doraglass, as Chris say, like the explorer...

They charged me extra for the BMW logos.

What was the $$ price for all glass shipped to US

Chris

i ordered a side replacement and the color was so bad off i had to send it back
and the glass is too perfect
our oem stuff has ripples in it.

Price for a complete set of glass was $1300 or so including shipping. The shipping for the front and rear was $350.
If you weren't replacing all the glass buying one piece could be a problem with matching.
Here's a photo of the glass on the hood of my white PU truck. Original on right, replacement on left.
W&N puts their glass on special from time to time. If you have time wait or ask them when they will do that?

Jeff, they are GREAT to deal with. I got a complete stainless exhaust for less than OEM, at everything arrived perfectly!
