Agreed, it makes the hood latch cable do a lot of work!

Yes, too high and stiff.( at least a few years ago) My bowden cable snapped when I tried to close my hood.

I ditched my seal in favour of an alternative design. Not only easier to secure the hood but a better seal therefore quieter.
