Looking for a mechanical speedo 5-speed to swap into my 3.0cs. Good condition preferred, but core to rebuild will do as well.

1982 has an electronic speedo. I wasn't convinced but I finally got word from the horse's mouth on one I bought last year (I never saw the transmission).

You can change to mechanical with parts from the 4 speed getrag I did it with one from a 1982 528e.

Be advised there are 3 different output flanges that vary greatly in size.
The ‘85 flange is much longer.

Are you saying you used the transmission from an 82 528e...?
You can use the 1982 528e transmission yes. You need to swap the speedo drive over from the 4spd Getrag. You also need to find an m40 bell housing. A 528e has a rare G265 to M20 bell housing.
