I have a 73 and have the trim for it, but honestly, I'll take early or late.

If I can't find a seal, I'm going to scrap my project. There's no sense in doing more repairs if I can never fit a windshield.

I’ve got a good used one from 73 parts car. I removed the windshield which was a replacement, so the seal looks to have been replaced when the windshield was. Seal is still soft and playable should be useable.
PM me if you’re interested and I’ll shoot you some pictures.
John

Walloth now only shows the later seal and says for 3.0L and Li, I sent them a note to see what’s up. Again, it’s a euro part number too.

Are there any European e3 owners here? The Walloth part 51 31 1 828 248 according to BMW is for ALL euros models and years. That could mean that all euro e3s kept the thinner lower trim molding and never went to the taller molding in 74. (A real long shot as pics seem to show larger version) Mesa confirmed that BMW has no inventory and only 180 back ordered according to Sterling BMW. And BMW won’t sell a euro only part to a US customer!

man, I wish I saw this before I got impatient and ordered a new one. probably would have saved a couple hundred.
