mrglasscars anyone...?

My front fenders are shot holes all the way down the top lip, I could repair them, but this car is not going to be a trailer queen anytime soon. I would prefer to replace them with stock looking fiberglass units. Anyone with a contact for these? I have not placed a call to Cypress Auto yet, is the man even making glass parts anymore?

Thanks in advance...

Skip said yep still making them high quality from what I hear. $450 each for fenders .

I'm not trying to cost Skip any business, but....

Unless you are building a competition car where every ounce is important, why would you use fiberglass fenders instead of steel? Yea, I know that $450 is less than the cost of an OE metal fender - but it isn't that much less. By the time you figure out how to bond the fiberglass to the car's structure, and you repair whatever other metal around the fender is also rusted, I doubt there would be a net saving. And your coupe will always have a "story".

Hi
I'm a Alfa Romeo guy (I like to buy 68-74 GTV model if anyone selling one here).
Anyhow, 2 years ago I bought a 1971 2800cs car from a guy in LA. The car had a blown head and it was equipped with single US made modified carburetor. Finally I managed to repair the car last month and I drove it the car to a local BMW mechanic for evaluation of strange single carburetor issue. He told me that the car has fiberglass body and it was made by Skip (Mr. Glass).
Can anyone help me to evaluate a value for this car? This is the same BMW at Mr. Glass' website.
Fiberglass parts on this car:
Doors
Front fenders
Trunk
Front hood
Front bumper

I like to visit Skip in Cypress to get some king of idea about the history of this car and perhaps purchase some parts from him. Eventually, I like to have the original carbs!!!

Fiberglass or not?

Wow, my fastback mustang has a fiberglass hood... To be quite honest $750 each new for steel is little steep for my budget, looking at what I have here it's a California car appears to have been in the east bay it's entire life H&B sticker on the door jam. Unfortunately the car was hit hard on the drivers side, someone did a real ****ty job repairing the damage, I have yet to put the car on a frame machine though the car drives straight. I'm probably going to spend a few dollars sorting the frame issue. My floors are solid in the back but both fronts are going to be replace once the frame is looked at. Probably not going to sell car durring my life time so I am not really concerned about it's collector value. Pretty sure what is under those fenders will need minimum repair looking at it. The bulk head on this car has a small bow do to the impact. The body shop that did the repair work should be shot, they replaced the rear quarter drivers door, half of the drivers front fender, and the drivers side rocker. She is no queen, this for sure, if I had that kind of money probably would have not started where I'm at now. For now the fenders need to come off and just looking at the hack job they did to the drivers fender and that A pilar area fiberglass is probably going to work just fine. At least I won't have to be concerned about rust in the future there, though BMW could have thought ahead when they were building them to rust out like they do, the 1600 & 2002 is no exception either. Want to come on by to help me cut and paste this old battle wagon back together in a tasteful manor? Oh yea a small block ford or chevy motor I'm swapping in also, NOT it's getting a 3.5l with 45mm carbs, proper 530 5 speed, 3.45lsd, these are all considered tasteful, but not original, beer is on ice you coming over?
