Thank you for checking! Besides the difference in the tip shape, the hole size is much smaller than mine. I think it wouldn't pass as much fuel. A friend had one that looked much like yours, it came off an old VW with a solex carb. We tried it, but the engine didn't seem to want to idle correctly with it.New is better, but... The one I found is Pierburg, has a "50" (presume .5mm) a "5336" and "12V" stamped on hex faces.
It passes the doesn't suck through unless hooked up to power test BUT the jet contact surface is different than yours, doesn't have the small counterbore. (bad picture attached gives the idea)
Don't know how big or small the seat cone is on your carb. Others in the know need to chime in if it will work properly.

Thanks for the information!Look inside the counterbore; there should be a much smaller size hole in the insert cap - if it is missing that may be your problem.
Do you know what size jet was in the VW unit?
That 218 BMW # shows for a number of cars and is superseded by another 516 # described only as "50"; presumably a .5mm jet. The new number is then also shown for 2002 and comes with (OUCH!) $350 suggested price. That 516 number has the shoulder.
On my USA CS biggest recurring carb problem I had were the long skinny smaller-than-euro idle jets on top side getting clogged up.

Thomas,
