Washer Pump Wiring

There are two leads, brown/black and violet/black, which one goes to the positive/negative terminals of the pump?

74 wiring is different than mine but my brown/black goes to neg and my green/black goes to pos so I'd wager that your brown/black is neg also.

Unless pump is polarized it shouldn't matter, if it is then swap them.
