We were heading out to Mid-AM 02 Fest when I noticed coolant pouring out from under the '74 CS. I had test driven the coupe just the day before and noticed several drops of coolant but thought it was spillage from when I topped up the reservoir and bleed the system. "The Don" told me to do a pressure test and, sure enough, the water pump was leaking badly all of a sudden. I have a replacement pump I was going to use on the '71 but it is the later style with the spin on clutch and I don't think I have the correct pulley. Parts stores are all closed now so I haven't been able to check for local availability. Any suggestions about sourcing a pump locally or what current part number I should be looking for in an early pump or a pulley for the spin on version?

for the newer water pump you want part number 11511706781.

See this thread from when I went through your same pain. Don eventually had his parts guy find one. There’s an alternate part number there as well. This is for the spin-on viscous clutch/fan option. I have the clutch and fan (black 9-blade) available if you want.

Thank you! I think you just saved my bacon! Terry Sayther included a number of extra parts when he built a 3.5L for me last year it looks like one of those parts is the pulley you suggested. The two belt pulley was the one on the '74 and the one belt pulley came with the new engine. It does look like the later style pulley is slightly smaller in diameter, so I assume I'll have to source a different belt.

Yep. I literally brought 6 belts back to oreillys that I had ordered online. They asked WTF. I said between new water pump, new pulleys, new alternator, new harmonic pulley, new PS pump with new pulley, I needed to do some trial and error. Found the ones that will work for me in the end

Hal - what is your belt configuration? I have one belt going around water pump, alternator and inner pulley slot of harmonic damper pulley, the other going around outer slot of harmonic damper pulley and power steering pump.
