Way to go Murray!

I loved the closing line: "Who wants to go out and play a little?" Can't you just picture Murray asking that?

Great piece of journalism about a great car and a great person.

Miss Kitty, BLUMAX and Murray

I'm flattered by all the attention this short subject has brought to date and have been warned that my debut to SAG--screen actors guild--may even result in clips that may show in some future ads--maybe the saying "Old Guys Rule" has some merit--as whenever I'm watching TV these days there are a lot of Octos doing TV ads it seems.

Quite frankly, if "Miss Kitty"--named after the lovely dance hall beauty from the "Gunsmoke TV Series" days--if she could drive she would have been the lead character in this short subject--as the camerman obviously was smitten with her--note her frequent appearance throughout the clip.

BTW--BLUMAX will be 41 on the 5th of September, just over 1/2 my age--and yes most agree he does look pretty good and he actually drives the same--still with gusto--after relentless care and maintenance now at slightly over 416,000 miles--once I learned how to keep him well. Now I try to share that with those who wish to drive their Coupes and preserve them for continued enjoyment for years to come.

I never expected nor planned to keep a car for so long--now almost 39 years--but since I have I'm commited to keeping the interior original and the exterior the same--re-sprayed yes--but wearing virtually all the trim he came with from the factory--and perhaps in my way serve as a positive example for other owners to keep theirs in fine roadable condition.

Murray You're the Man!!

Murray,

I also really enjoyed watching the video clip of two legends, you and The BluMax.

Many happy miles to you both.

I showed it to my kids to help explain why dad is often tinkering on his coupe. Also, I took my son out in it the other day and said "ok, now listen to 3rd gear" - perfect!

Blumax

Well done Murray!

But now that you and Miss Kitty are on your way to stardom, we've got to get you prepped. So I took the liberty of trying out a few pertinent facts:

Miles 416,000

Gas/ gal- 20,800

Oil Changes- 139

Qts- 693

tires/4- 9 sets

spark plugs- 250

Grinning when you pass the guys in the new Ferraris..... priceless. Enjoy!

With my very best and highest regards,

BLUMAX, Miss Kitty & Murray

There's quote a story leading up to this unexpected honor--that I'll share someday before my 1st academy Award is bestowed--as that is a very indefinite period of time in the future--it may be a long time before my storytime.

I must admit when i first saw the work that a former Coupe owner and member of this message board--now a Creative and Art Director for GSD&M prepared from our having spent a few hours together "unscripted"--I was actually very touched as to what he had captured in that time reduced to a 90 second draft of his idea--his idea has since become a global undertaking and thats all I can say now.

61 Porsche aka Jerry--re grinning as i pass a Ferarri--
Many years ago we used to refer to our Coupes as "The Poor Mans Ferrari" as when at full song they do or did somewhat resemble the Ferrari's engine sounds--however we didn't pass too many--except for those disabled alongside the road.

Thanks again Guys for your generous commentary--it warms the old ticker!!

To an old friend

Murray
Great job, I am always amazed at your hidden talents! It has been a pleasure to discuss the coupes through out the past years, and I look forward to many more. Now, how do we control those votes for Murray and the Bluemax for the Oscar!

Academy Award

that I'll share someday before my 1st academy Award is bestowed

Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame, Murray.Remember us in your (first) acceptance speech :-D

Kidding aside, I really enjoyed it and knowing you only through this board, could not think of a better ambassador for the coupe. Well done and very, very cool!
