With sample pieces from Steele Rubber in hand, I put these pieces onto the window (rear) and top trim (front) . They fit okay, so I ordered 10’ lengths of the trim to replace the factory stuff that is long gone/cracked/torn.

Wish me luck.

I’ll let you know if the project is successful in wind noise/sealing.

Any “other than factory” experiences and/or successes from others?
Thanks in advance, Robert.

Thanks Erik, I'll check it out!

In the meantime, I've already placed an order with Steele ($100 in products) and I'll give them a try. I may be mistaken, but some of the rubber I need looked to be "NLA."

Patton - I believe Peter Coomaraswamy replaced trim in that area on his car using a Steele Rubber products product. Do a search here, this may be what you are seeking.

Look what showed up to be used in lieu of the unobtainable BMW back window, vertical rubber seal.

I went with something a little different then that in the first picture that I posted.

The next use of Steele rubber will be the sample piece that you see at 12:00 position.

My factory rubber split-off from the plastic plate that holds it in place.

( Headliner work later.)

Thank you so much for this I order the same rubber I was looking for this very long time any other recommendation.
You are welcome. The Steele rubber worked wonderfully. I’m going to try the horizontal- to-the -a pillar piece tomorrow.

Passing along things that work is what makes this forum so useful to all of its members. I owe so many members gratitude for their help and encouragement.
