welts on an e3?

so do bavarias have welts under the door panel and at the back of the kick panel like the coupe does?

Not on our 1970 2800. The door panels have an embossed faux stitching, the door side of the kick panel is hidden under the pinch welt/door seal, other edges are sewn just like the rest of the carpet pieces.

My 72 Bav is the same as Chris has described...so the answer is no (barring further evidence).
