Anybody have a color number or formula for the grey (I call it Wermacht grey since it looks to me like the German uniforms of the Wermacht) used on the CSi airbox? FYI, also used on the front and rear subframes, rear swing arms and front strut housings and some times drive shaft. I have several of these parts with original paint that is the same as the airbox. Its a weird combo of grey, green and I think a bit of blue. Have never seen a color number or match. Anybody matched it or know the formula for the color? Same question about the grey used by Ebersbacher for exhaust components, anybody?

You need a Pantone book, as most automotive paint shops can match colors based on a Pantone number.

They're great-- You can basically match any color.

From an old post by Merdad on roadfly....does this make sense? Watch heat resistance....

In the Autumn/Winter 2000 issue of CS Registry, page 6, is an article by a body shop in Ohio, that has mixed that color to the exact match of the original (what they say). The formula is to mix one liter of Sikkens Autocryl single stage paint. It can be scaled up or down. They also say that this color is also used on the trunk caddy:

Toner Weight in grams of each toner
______ _____________________________
444 395.0
559 21.0
558 218.1
744 255.0
00 291.1

I contacted Historiches Archiv last year about this; they told me that they could not find the paint code anywhere on their drawings. If the color is the same for a CS air cleaner housing, then I would join a group effort to have the stock color analyzed for accuracy. It costs about $35 or $150 for a hand-matched formula, depending on how you interpret the info provided on www.paintscratch.com...
