There are several solid blue colors on the list which is this? Solid blue (non-Metallic)1970 2800CS. I think that it is Riviera.

Chris it is not metallic..

The blue is not metallic (I wish it were)

Riviera or Atlantik I think?

From the pic it appears way too bright and shiny to be Atlantik, maybe it is just the exposure/setting. Riviera is much lighter, Baikal is softer/lighter than Nachtblau. Maybe it isn't a BMW color, was it repainted?

Try searching the site for the link to the old cs registry that someone from Sweden ( IIRC) had posted that info. It had an actual color chart , production, year, etc. just for e9s.

Steve had it, the link, on his posts. Maybe he or Dang has the original from the old website?

Certain lighting can play tricks on colors; especially the blues and greens.

There were one year colors for certain models.

It almost looks like an old (1970) Porsche 911 color Albert Blue or maybe the BMW Riviera (lighting)...or how about a repaint with a newer color??

Jon

Riviera is paint code 36.

All dark blues have a tint of purple due the mix ( red). It especially shows up depending upon the light.

Conversely, the greens ; agave etc. can appear more blue sometimes and more green other times due to the mix.

61 was/ is fjord which is similar to agave to me; but it's a Porsche. It's prepped for paint now..well another shot of surfacer and more smoothing.... stay original or........the delima / debate continues for me ; change to original year color .

My 72 is Arkistblau( Met.) it looks sometimes purplish in evenings with sunset and sometimes dark blue. Close to naughtblau, slightly lighter with a little more grey hue.

It is an original color Riviera Blue... The photo was taken in bright sunlight...

The color is a dead on match for the original paint under the truck lid and hood. It is Riviera Blue which is a dark solid blue (no metallic)...

The original photo in this post might look a little lighter then it actually is because it was a very bright day...

Here it is again photoshoped for the color to be a little bit more accurate.

Yes Porsche has basically the same color called Bali Blue...

My most recent e9 is a 1972 3.0CS Fjord Metallic but mine is code 37 not 61 as 61Porsche indicated...

I just went to a site paintscratch.com and they have photos of the colors with the numbers also!
