Our most popular topic is close to today's post. Now I have clearance to sync airflow between my carbs with Doug's airflow meter with the smaller diameter Tii brake booster.
Doug needed his tires rotated before we made the 500 + mile Florida Gator Crawl event in February.
We got together in my garage to get to work. We jacked up his Coupe and used my 4 jack stands to allow us to get his Alpina's off and clean the insides of the wheels and tires. I used a cleaner wax to get those 20 spokes on each wheel looking new again.
The rotation was rear tires forward and front tires crossed to the opposite rear. I do this to all of my cars every 5K miles. But my Honda Pilot has a tread pattern for only front-to-rear exchange.
Doug then used his air flow meter to find my carbs were slightly "out-of-whack". The dial read 3.5-3.0-4.5 on the front, middle,& back carbs.
Then we removed the linkage rods to have all of the carbs set to their no throttle position. The linkage rod lengths were set so everything was "in- whack". ( that has to be the answer to "out-of-whack")
The engine was started and the airflow meter read 3.0 on all 3 carbs at 1000RPM on the instrument panel gauge. The carbs must be okay since the song we heard on the garage radio was that boy Band "In Sync"......
