Hi Folks,

I may have found what I was looking for and left a msg for the owner to call me back. Looking at the pix she looks in a good shape.... the only thing is the engine.

Anybody knows what it is?

I will try to inspect the car during the weekend. Any tips except those from Tech Info what to look at? Any advise would be highly appreciated.

Cheers
Viggen

Looks like a fairly standard M30 with D-Jet and an AC radiator. They must have had it apart before since they crinkle-coated the valve cover.

saab story

e 30 with d jet.. same airbox as mine too.

viggens were nice. SAAB was a great brand untill the general took her over. i sold SAABs for 10 years.

Thanks for this. Just wanted to be on the safe site before I go and spend my hard earned money

Viggen....hmmm, you like Saabs...?

I do - specially that one

Re cars: they used to be good before GM took over and ... well talk to anybody who had one when GM was in charge. A tow truck in front of the house used to be a daily occurrence.

Unfortunately it is the same with Bimmers (yeah I know somebody will try to kill me for that statement) but ... having 2009 1 series in the garage I can honestly say it is ... hmm similar to Saab?

It was great for the first 10 k km. Don't get me wrong nothing major but she is literally falling apart (seems to me the dashboard doesn’t like Aussie heat). How do they fix it? They use a gaffa tape.

My mate at work decided to go for a Diesel . 3 k km on the clock and 7 weeks later – the car has been back at the dealership already 4 times – leaking oil, twice, GPS replacement and the latest … pressure problems with CR. I don’t have to say that the person who convinced him to buy a “Diesel” (cause 99% of Europeans do) is nowhere to be seen near him…
