What holds the defroster vents in place?

What holds the defroster vents in place?
I know there is a clip outboard the the end fits into, is that it?
The driver's side one seems loose in the slot

ITS A FLAT clip that is about 1" wide and 2-1/2" long
it has a horseshoe end with prongs 1/2" wide
it sits on one side of the vent opening and pressure holds it in place
you slide in the inside then set the clip on the outside to thje bottom of the dash steel

Thanks, there is a slip on the outboard end that the vent hooks into, is that the one your are talking about?
It is at just one end, what holds the other end? anything?
