I have one of these on each side, goes from the space where the windshield wiper mechanism sits down into the engine bay but is capped off. I do not have an AC car - is this where some sort of venting sits? Not sure what purpose these serve otherwise but I’m sure there is a simple explanation.

Quack…

The duck bill drain hose.

Lets rain water out of the firewall area that comes in from the vents on your hood while minimizing the amount of engine bay hot air and fumes that can get sucked into your heater blower fan to the interior of your car.

Important item!

I have extended this drain hose to under the motor compartment. So rainwater doesn’t get in to the small area of the frame or into the beam’s. Some rust prevention!
