what is this?

Spent some time under the dash this morning. It is pretty "touched" under there - some PO has spent a bit too much time hooking up what appears to be an alarm and/or remote door lock thingy. It will take me a while to sort out what is original and what I need to "make original".

While under there I found this little gadget just dangling amid the wiring. Doesn't seem to pull out - at the moment it only twists. Anyone know what it is? Is it part of the car, or some aftermarket do-dad that I can toss into the bin? Thanks in advance.

Disregard - I found it in the manual. Mounted to the inside left of the oddments tray.

It mounts on the steering column support frame I believe, I can take a pic Sunday if no one has one in the meantime.

On the center under dash panel. That is the easy side, the other end goes in the back of the Speedo which is hard to insert.

yes, and the routing of that cable must also be "correct" or it is hard to turn..... don't ask me how i know.

poor design and sure the mounting place…. should have been on the dashboard.
