I have a 1973 3.0CS with VIN 2240909 built June of 1973. It is apparent that the motor was changed out sometime its life. I have read all the threads on this subject but can't figure out what engine I have ? I went to change the oil and figured something was different since it has the newer style oil filter canister with the bolt on top. Then I started looking at everything. Above the starter where the number should be is blank as far as I can tell after wiring brushing it using a high powered LED light and a magnifying glass The head on the intake side has a stamp with an 82 and to the right of it a 5 . Back further is the stamping 1 277 358. On the intake side at the bottom is the stamp 3.0/ 3.3 . On the exhaust side are two stampings . one looks like it could be 127E82 or 27E82. Up by the front the stamp appears to be 126980Y . Can anyone help me solve and figure out what I have in my car ?
