Found this in the bottom of my driver's side door, basically a chunk of lead. What is it man?...

It comes off of the door handle mechanism. I am not entirely sure what it does. There should be some felt on the angle face. I cannot tell how it is attached to the steel hinge plate. See attached photo.

Buffer.( Presumably when you let the handle go, it lessens the action.) Rubber ( Must all be hard as a rock by now.) Still a good part number. No screws shown, so glued is my guess.

Probably part of the reinforcing that was done when it was imported to the US. Do you have wood beams behind the bumpers too?

the rear is missing, so i dont know.
dont think i have them in the front bumper.
aren't they supposed to be metal?

Odd thing

Doesn't seem to effect the door operation, makes a good paper weight, lightens the coupe!
One less rattle to worry about...
