so guys, what are peoples opinions on the best looking wheels for a uk csl. Alpinas or BBS (or another make ?) and what size, I think I prefer larger than the 14 alpinas I have but have seen horrendous 18s. Opinions ?

I can't believe nobody has replied to this!

I've done a lot of research recently as I agree with you, the standard 14" wheels are too small - 70 profile tyres on a sporting coupe?!

I've come to the conclusion that the classic style Alpinas or BBS basket weave style wheels are the way to go with 16's, you may find further options in 15 inch. Either way you want wheels with plenty of dish, as well as having an offset of ET11 with 7J width (you can go out to ET24 on the back with 8J wheels)

I'm just about to splash out on the BBS option, keep an eye on my thread on retro rides, I have the same username

Coupe King Alpina replicas are the way to go. Good quality, reasonable cost, with good tire choices. They just look right.

Good call Scott I just had a look and they seem beautiful! I didn't know those were available.

So it seems there's your choice Readie, BBS for the ultimate tastefully modified look, or BBS for the ultimate classic look with attitude!

Either way as a fellow British man we're looking at £1500 for new (Alpinas) or refurbished (BBS') by the time you take into account shipping, import duty and mid-range tyres.

I'm literally going to choose which way to go this week....

+1 CSL should have the 14" alpinas imho. You guys across the pond should be able to get 215/65R14's which are a perfect fit looks vs speedo accuracy when moving from 195's.

On a CSL? 14 Inch Alpinas with 205/70 R14 tires.

Fullstop.
