Whats the difference between Stop Light Switch /Backup Light Switch?

I can't remember where go the STOP LIGHT SWITCH (76 in the diagram) … because the BACK UP LIGHT SWITCH (33 in the diagram) go in the pedal box.

The stop light switch goes in the pedal assembly while the back-up light switch is in the transmission.

Here are a couple of pictures.

Brake (stop light) switch is on the pedal assembly shown in this picture (upper right).

The transmission back-up light switch is shown on the 5 speed pictured below on the bottom left of the picture.
