Wheel arch stainless trim - $75 for the set

Stumbled across these on eBay - looks like a pretty good deal if anyone is interested. The seller has good feedback overall.

It would be interesting to see how closely they match CSL trim. The consensus is that most of these aftermarket pieces are chromed brass, and the profile doesn't matched the squared off CSL trim. I really like the CSL trim and wouldn't mind it on my car after I paint.

Someone needs to make these in plain steel so they can be painted to match; much better looking IMHO. The stainless looks...too garish. Like what you see on mid-70s/80s Merc SLs.

I think that you have exhausted your opinion on the stainless flares. Anyway painting stainless isn't equivalent to painting a teflon pan. Stainless can be painted like any other steel with surface prep. All polished metals are prepped before painting.
