Hi,

I have some 14x7 (et 11) Mahle BBS rims and was considering changing with my staggered 16” Alpina rims for a bit of variety for a while.

As the Mahle rims are not staggered, can I just use a spacer to pop out the rear rim to fill the wheel arch more fully? (since I have the silver csl wheel flares)

Have also had mixed messages about wheel spacers being highly illegal because they are dangerous. Yet another guy at a leading workshop said they are no problem and legal ?

Does anyone know who sells E9 rear spacers?

If you use spacers on the rear you may need longer studs too, kinda defeats the purpose of changing wheels from time to time.

If you use longer studs, one can just use open end lug nuts.

Your Mahle are 14x7s. What is the width of your 16" ALpinas?

Wheel spacers are fine as long as they're not too thick where you barely have any stud left to thread on.

You could get 1" spacers that have studs on them if you go that thick.

Hi,

My current Alpina are 8” rear and the Mahle 7” so probably need a 1” spacer.

Good point about the studs. Might have to get longer ones as well.
