Hi guys,

Yesterday I bought the all expensive door weather seals for my '73 coupe.
The old seals were done and needed replacement.
When pulling the old rubber off, i found out that the seal sits in a trim piece that screws to the roof and A pillar.
The previous owner glued them on this teim instead of snapping the seal in. Resulting in glue I can't get rid of. Since it's impossible to replace the seals when there is glue in the nooks and crannies of this trim piece, I need a new one.

Number 7 in the picture. In this picture it looks like a small piece but it's a trim that runs entirely over the door, front to back. I need it for both sides.

Anyone?

You will need a parts car to find those. Use 3M Adhesive Remover in the spray can with a plastic blade to scrape it all out. Time consuming and not much fun. The new rubbers are hard to place back in those channels too and expect to slam your doors to close them. Good luck.

I confirmed that I have a set that I don't need. I need to remove them from my parts car soon also. Check with use rsporsche as he may have a set ready to ship also.

If you can't find them I remember seeing about a thousand sets at Carl Nelson's in La Jolla all hanging from rafters- you can take a picture of what you need and email him- I know the pieces you speak of because although most of the plastic weather strip base fits in easily the bends can be tough and they often get jacked up necessitating as a last result.. glueing, which I was able to avoid as it won't hold properly and that seal can contribute to wind noise in an awful way.
