This is OT correct? In 73' I had my first ride in an E9 and non VW Euro car, a 95-110 MPH Blast in the back seat from Montreal to Mosport to see the Cdn GP. (My best friend's Dad drove) I grew up in a GM household and was mostly captivated by high HP Chevys. In 75' I had my driver's license and Mum was very liberal in giving me the keys to her 73' Pontiac Grand Prix. It had a 400 CI 4 Bbl and seemed quite fast to me. Anyway, it was in the Fall on a weekend. My friend and I thought we would do his Dad a favour and wax the Dark Green 72' CS for him. I had the Pontiac parked in about where the Honda is in the photo. The CS was parked about where that Chryco product is . My E46 Wagon is behind it. When we were done waxing the car, we decided to go for a ride in the GP. Wanting to impress my friend, I gave it a lot of gas leaving the line since it was on a hill. Problem was the car was in reverse. It shot backward instantly and in a howling death stomp I managed to stop about three inches before wiping out the Coupe. Talk about instant sweat breaking from one's brow. Anyway, was back in Montreal looking at old haunts last week and this memory came back after I parked the wagon. I'd love to take my friends Dad for a drive and toss him the keys one day when mine is road worthy.

Hope he doesn't have it in reverse! What happened to the coupe?

Well if the Coupe had lived, it would have been rusted to oblivion by about 1980 in Montreal, probably one of the worst places to be a rust prone car in the world. The CS met an untimely demise on a family vacation. My friend was driving his Mum's Saab 99, his Dad was in front in the Coupe (In the winter). I don't know the details, but somehow both cars were written off in the same collision. If I remember correctly the Coupe flipped over. He pried the Roundels off before the tow truck arrived and I think that is all that was left. Last I checked, the Father lives in Atlanta, so no more rusty cars for him.
