They are obviously NLA but is there a replacement source by any chance?

Thank you.

Home Depot sells boxes with a variety of springs in them, perhaps you can improvise with what is available there, cutting if necessary.

You can make the "screws" with nylon rod and a die. I plan to make new ones eventually. Do you need number three?

get one from an old chevy truck
supplier there is every single part of the 53 trruck
available it is exactly the same
you can make the palstic sleeve doesnt have to be threaded
thats just bmw engineering gone overboard

Actually they do need to be threaded. They screw into the black horn button. It has 3 female threaded inserts into which the nylon "screws" go in. You can see it in the first pic above. That's why one end of the nylon screw has a hex opening. To help screw it in.

Are you referring to the spring, Alan? If so, where is it used on a 53 chevy truck? Steering wheel horn button as well?

Okay quick update. I measured the diameter of the little white plugs. They are about 9.53mm. Fortunately, 3/8th's nylon rod is 9.525mm. That should likely do it. Now, you can buy 2' of 3/8" white nylon rod for $8. You obviously won't have the hex key holes, but you can quickly slot them with a hacksaw or dremel to accept a screwdriver

I also didn't check the thread pitch but it is more or less "coarse"

I don't have the steering wheels springs "handy", but you should be able to find them here once you measure:

I've used mcMaster Carr when I need to build or replicate stuff. Great company!

Ha! Brilliant info there Markos. I had a feeling McMaster would have something to offer but you actually did the homework. Thank you!

I'll definitely follow up.

Bo.
